Loneliness

Loneliness and the incapacity to create a durable relationship is the greatest poverty in our society and the cause of much instability.  Someone is kissed and says : "It's twenty years ago since I've been kissed."  People who end up in hospital or a home for the aged and who never receive a visit.  People who die and to whom only a few friends from the Poverello-family pay their last respects, no one else.  At times like that one realizes just what Poverello means for some people
